Fortunately, I did not have to choose. There is no way I would not get a SOD. I don't buy knives based on things one or two people say against them on forums. If they make a product I like and back their warranty, that works for me. As long as a dealer or maker is honorable in his dealings with me, I will do busniness with him. I am reminded of all the bashing over on BF about Lynn Thompson and Cold Steel. I don't even know him, but I have quite a few Cold Steels, and most of them have served me well. I don't know most of the makers I have bought from. I have met Dan and Jerry Busse. I buy their knives and I trust their integrity. So far, I have no reason not to. I have been very pleased with most of their models, and I know from experience that they stand by their products. That is good enough for me. If somebody goes on a rant bashing them for some reason, it won't keep me from buying a model they make, if I like it.
