Very disturbing post my friend. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Just what business did you say you are IN? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />

I didn't.

Anyway, if you look at:

1.) powers given to or taken by (given via acquiescence) the governments of the world in the name of security,
2.) increasing dependence on interconnected digital systems at all levels of society,
3.) increasing features in decreasing size leading to more interconnectedness and less user understanding

... then it's easy to predict where we're going. At least in the near future.

Homework: Find out about the concept of the panoptic sort (pan-, "all" + optic, "seeing". Sort, verb, to select or organize data based on defined criteria). Identify ways in which modern society has already begun to implement it or ways in which it could conceivably be advanced without public awareness.

This concludes today's lesson on paranoia. Be vigilant!
