Being a certifiable knife nut... I use my knives for just about anything and everything I can I guess... within reason that is... And of course I use knives on a daily basis for making pants...

I get used to using certain knives for certain tasks and even leave knives in certain places all over the house just for those purposes... Good thing my kids are old enough to leave them alone or at least respect them.

Toast, congrats on the little one that's on it's way, it's a wonderful thing and although little ones can be a handful, they can be so precious and rewarding too, it will definately change your life. I started knife collections for both of mine before they were even born. Nothing fancy though, just what I could get here and there. Fortunately they're both old enough now to keep up with them themselves. It brings back memories to think back to when they were too young and they would ask me to get their collections out. With careful supervision I'd let them look through and study the different blades and ask me questions about them and the usual "when can I have them daddy"... awe the memories.
