They are! The Canadian military uses them for packing pretty much anything. Our new barrack boxes are pelicans. Anything that we want to make sure is secure is packed in them. When I went to Afghanistan, I had to co-work with your Marines on a few projects, and they had their gear stowed in Pelicans.
