Only 2 days back I walked with my newest survival knife for about 7 miles through some steep country I hunt in. The knife(BNSS) weighs 22.4 ounces/627grams, about the same as the SOD I think.
With a Spec Ops style sheath(lower hanging sheath) it wasn't a problem. A pleasure really!
