One of my best friends is insulin dependent, 3 shots min a day. We have hiked and paddled some of the roughest country you can imagine and although I have had to shove a few life savers down his big mouth over the years believe me he has not missed out on much.

The wife served as a clinic person for the local elementary school for 6-7 years. Her main thing was watching over diabetic children while they were at school. We get to see these kids regularly at our dog park too. It is amazing how far things have come.

Now that the doctors have apparently discovered how to maintain your child on an even keel I think you will see your lives return to something approaching the norm. Discovering the right methods and schedule seems to be the major battle.
