I am not a hunter, but my brother in law is. His knife is some random blade he bought at a truck stop. I want to upgrade that for him. Is the Muk or the Bird Dog a good blade for hunters? If so why? Thanks a million for your help fellas.
I like the Bird Dog as a small game hunting knife...great on rabbits and birds. I suspect it will do a nice job on fish but I haven't used it for that ...yet. The Muk will also work for hunting.
I like the 6 for deer. Although last year I left my 6 at home on the table and ended up cleaning two deer with a Dog Father <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" /> I choked up on the point for the fine cuts...it worked but its a bunch of knife for cleaning. A smaller...shorter blade is much better for maneuverability. I haven't used my 5 on a hunt yet but it will also do the job.
Some of the other Dogs who are hunters should jump in and give you some ideas of what they use
