Here's a question for all:

Do you prefer the SOD or the Chopweiler, and why?

Once I got a Chopweiler, I thought that would be the end all of seven inch camp blades for me. Well, the SOD was later released and at first, I didn't think I'd care to have one. However, as time went on and the release date approached, I realized that I needed a SOD, too! Now, among other seven inchers, I have both the SOD and Chopweiler and ask myself if there is really a huge benefit of one over the other. Here are the pros I see of each:

SOD Pros:
Res C comfort
SR77 toughness
Better corrosion resistance

Chopweiler Pros:
SR101 edge retention
Full tang and micarta handles for greater durability

I'm sure there are more pros of each, but I really want to know what you all think! Thanks for your input!

I think you covered the strengths of each knife pretty well. Another thing the SOD has going for it is light weight. That might make a difference to someone who was trying to keep weight to a minimum. They are both great camp knives.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.
