Infi vs. SR-77. Does it really matter. Each steel has some advantages over the other. And each steel has some disadvantages over the other. Infi's a great all arounder, but SR-77 might be better at impacts, SR-101 might have better edge retention. In the end buy the steel that suits your needs.

Truth be told I doubt very seriously that many of us will ever punish our knives enough to need that extra 5% margin. There's a lot that goes into a knife that affects its performance. Steel is one such aspect, but so is design. The simple reality is that Dan and Jerry's knives are so overengineered and overbuilt that I seriously doubt it makes a difference one way or the other what metal they're made from.

I like Jerry's designs. He makes some spectacular blades. However, as much as I admire Busse blades I have to admit that I don't own a single one. Why? Cause I'm a user! I simply have a hard time justifying buying a several hundred dollar knife and using it when I can get something pretty close for a whole lot cheaper from the Scrapyard.

Peace
Jerry
