+1 on the SAK and 119. I think you did good with the leatherman. Even if he doesn't carry it, it would be handy for the car or home.

The SAK is so innocuous in public it almost isn't a knife. No one raises an eyebrow when they see one which makes it an easy edc even if he's not into knives. The 119 would not be as sheeple friendly, but I just like those old lockbacks and Buck will refinish it like new in 10 years time if need be.
