Fair point Mike. If you want Res-C with INFI there are darn few choices. Inficoots are pretty rare and sell at more of a premium than the SS4.

I find I especially like the micarta handles on a smaller knife though it does make the smaller knife somewhat larger. Having both a Res-C HR and micarta HRLM I can tell you I prefer the micarta handle on the same knife blade. This I think is largely a personal preference consideration.

As to the resale value of the SS4 versus the BATAC I don't agree with your analysis. Given the relative scarcity of the SS4s, they have risen in value very little since it was introduced. Mint SS4s shipped to a US address are going for as little as $25 over the orginal purchase and shipped price. The BATAC being the low end of the high end of the more popular BC line will likely do better in the long term but I didn't get the impression that PoP was buying for a collection versus purchasing a user.
