Lazi- are you an audiophile? Are you familiar with high end audio gear or mainly studio gear only? Just curious... I like talking high end audio and music.
I have dabbled in the audiophile stuff but I'm mainly studio gear. it seems a good bit of what I know works in both worlds for the most part. or as i say jokingly, "i fake it and nobody has caught on yet.."
but if there are any type of audio related questions then I just go for answers. I can usually talk gear all day. so I had a handful of audiophile guys that would show up to pick my brains for a hour or two. they wanted to talk $100 per cable and I was talking "tear your walls out and put up resilient channel and double dry wall". ... but that's would I would do...
but compared to a few of my old customers that have a few thousands in just amps alone, I'm no where near an "audiophile". at least not where I want to be. I know a little about analyzing and treating rooms and a very little about the audiophile marketed gear. a lot of that stuff is heavily rebagged and hyped (imho) so I would probably lean more towards a recording studio style audiophile setup if I was to ever invest in a personal audiophile system. I would probably amp it all with a couple sweet old tube amps but I'd likely run studio monitors, players, and processors in the mix. plus I'm more of a clarity freak than a character freak I think. if I go audiophile my money would go towards a treated room and transparent system first.
