yup... should be four wires in the cable but some dedicated USB power cables only the two for +/-. just walked outside by i have a phone charger I rigged and one of the power cables it yellow. if you see a white and a green cable those are data an can be snipped. but this is from memory so you might want to look up a diagram before cutting wires.
