All for it except for the De-Regulator part. For me there is nothing more ugly than a DeReg.
For the ones that like their Regulators with one arm chopped off it's pretty easy to take a hack saw and sandpaper to it. Or a 4" grinder and nub it down to where you are happy. Just don't make us all have to have it that way.
That's a good point, but some of us find Dog Father handles, mudder handles, or war dog handles to be the ugliest things on Earth. Not everyone will find it to be perfect.
Maybe it's just me, but I thought the reason knives have handles is to allow a secure and comfortable interface between the blade and the user......
I'm not sure where looks fit in. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> [/quote]
My point that I was trying to convey is that a Reg Handle is easy to make into a De-Reg but not the other way around and for me in addition to making the knife look funny in my opinion. I think the regulator also allows a better interface between myself and said sharp instrument.
I also am of the opinion that looks do play a role in the likability of a knife otherwise why would busse and kin offer many knives in different color combinations.
No knife or anything else is going to please everyone.
