The 6.8 shot well. The first group (3 shots at 100 yds off a backpack) was well under an inch. Most of my three shot groups were right at 1 inch. I shot a quick 6 shot group (I meant to keep it at 5, but lost count) right at 1.5 inches. Recoil was fine for me, but definately more than a .556. My son could tell the difference right off the bat.
For what it will be used for, (medium size game at moderate distances) it will do just fine for my boy.
I was using the 110 bthp. The maximum point blank range is right at 250 yards with the 110's. It still delivers 1000 lbs of energy at that range. I will probably move up to the Hornady 120gr SSTs for the better bullet construction. I hope the 1/11 twist will keep good groups with those bullets.
For me, this rifle is going to be used primarily as a hunting rifle. The light recoiling, adjustable stock, semi-auto loading, accurate, reliable and "handy" nature of this platform in a big game capable cartridge make it a good overall fit.
