I think that you're right- the Safety is different. I am wondering what is in he wings foe a 711 replacement but a new smaller, thinner blade would be interesting especially in a stainless steel.

I support all new releases, as long as they are <4" blades, have FFG, No choils or Useful choil, Mudders and <3/16". Not too picky...

I always feel like I'm not being too picky, then I look at my requirements. I'm way too picky! Everything is always a compromise.........until I send it to a modder.

I haven't sent any mudders out to be modded. We would have to start with a mudder with zero choil.

Dangit. I didn't save any of my pics of my favorite mods. They were both Busses and they were the first skeletonized tangs that norcalblacktail did. One was a SAR5 and one was an Active Duty with Game Warden handle. I had him turn the talon hole on the AD into a usable finger choil. That thing had snakeskin handles, MAN I miss that knife! I've thought about contacting the buyer to see if he'd like to sell it back to me, but that doesn't seem right to me for some reason.

Me too. That was my "Dog Bowlo" listed in the OP. I've never tried one (extensively) so the first should be a Bussekin!

A hawk would be awesome too. Not much more American than Bowie knives and Tomahawks.
