I think that you're right- the Safety is different. I am wondering what is in he wings foe a 711 replacement but a new smaller, thinner blade would be interesting especially in a stainless steel. Isn't the Mudd / Safety Mutt a departure from the 11 Series?
I support all new releases, as long as they are <4" blades, have FFG, No choils or Useful choil, Mudders and <3/16". Not too picky...

I always feel like I'm not being too picky, then I look at my requirements. I'm way too picky! Everything is always a compromise.........until I send it to a modder.

You could do a regrind of a 411 and come close. You mudder needs a modder. I always feel like I'm not being too picky, then I look at my requirements. I'm way too picky! Everything is always a compromise.........until I send it to a modder.

I haven't sent any mudders out to be modded. We would have to start with a mudder with zero choil.

Dangit. I didn't save any of my pics of my favorite mods. They were both Busses and they were the first skeletonized tangs that norcalblacktail did. One was a SAR5 and one was an Active Duty with Game Warden handle. I had him turn the talon hole on the AD into a usable finger choil. That thing had snakeskin handles, MAN I miss that knife! I've thought about contacting the buyer to see if he'd like to sell it back to me, but that doesn't seem right to me for some reason.

I am patiently waiting for either The Yard or The Swamp to release their take on a Kuhkri ...!!!!! I love my KZ but something ResC handled would be nice as well... The BIG bowie suggestions also resonate with me...

A hawk would be awesome too. Not much more American than Bowie knives and Tomahawks.
