I was doing a spot of yard work today. Clearing bush tobacco plants, bamboo vines, lantana, all sorts of weeds and vines. The Scrap Yard 1311 is a perfect light bush knife and makes very short work of clearing scrub. HOWEVER, a big lesson learned for me today - never swap hands when you're tired! I am right handed. My right hand cramped up a little and I was feeling a bit puffed. I swapped the knife into my left hand and continued hacking and slashing. The blade glanced off something and hit my right forearm as you can see. Lucky for me it wasn't too deep, more of a fillet. Fillet of Rob. I am normally always so careful with these things and I keep them razor sharp. That'll learn me! Play with the big dog, get bit by the big dog. WOW, looks so realistic and life like. You ARE a good artist Rob.
Seriously, glad it was more or less a glancing blow. It COULD have been much worse. I've come close a time or two myself, a VERY sobering experience.

Seriously, glad it was more or less a glancing blow. It COULD have been much worse. I've come close a time or two myself, a VERY sobering experience. Yes, it's certainly a reminder to take care and respect the tools you're working with.

Get some super glue onto that, drink a beer and get back to work 'ya wuss... !!  Been bitten a few time myself mate, that one could have been MUCH worse !

Stitches? Ouch brother glad you didn't get it worse. Thankfully no. The blade hit on an angle and literally filleted me. I filled it up with betadine and whacked a bandage on it and should heal up no worries.
