dunno, Lupa. try e-mailing patti or trash can, have them ask dan what he thinks. I think it's a kind offer, and if it's kosher I'm all for it. thank you.

Lupa - that is a very generous offer you extended to us! However, when one of our fellow forumites offered to get dealer type pricing on other brands of knives, Dan shot it down. You could try and ask him, but don't be surprised if he replies negatively. Wonderful thought though!! Tom

I must have been a half-second quicker posting Scrappy! Lupa, a request to you could be done by private messages, just not an "open" posting.

Thanks for the update guys.
I figured the rules went along that path, but I didnt want anyone to think I wouldnt be willing to make the offer. Had to ask.

Back to our regularly scheduled forum talk.

Just a question, but when you guys are saying you want stuff like this that I can get in as a dealer, am I allowed to post "hey guys, I will get it for you for $XX.XX, forum discount!" ?
Can I do that or is it considered tacky?
If I can offer you guys special deals, I will be happy to.

Well, you’re welcome to post the info at the BKE. Then maybe if someone references something they’re looking for that you can get, you could just reply something like “Check BKE”, then you could post your offer there. Hopefully one of the other 100+ members there might also be interested, and they could help you out by giving you their business, and you could help them by providing them a “Yard discount”.

I am considering the whole kit that Vance posted. Looks like it could be a nice kit to carry while I am bow hunting.

Everybody always downs the Blastmatch because the ABS housing might break. So what? Even if it does, you still have a mack-daddy fero rod that will throw a HUGE amount of hot sparks when you scrape it with almost any type of blade. Since everyone I know always has a couple of blades, I don't consider that possible weakness to be any problem.
If anything, the color of the housing bothers me more. Black blends in too well if it's dropped in the bush. I've ran thin yellow line through all of mine to make them stand out more. I saw some orange ones a while back on ebay, but just couldn't stand to pay the prices asked.
All mine came from the killer deals that the NRA had a couple of years ago. 15 bucks for the Survival Inc. kit containing the Blastmatch, Jet Scream whistle, fire starting tabs, & signal mirror all contained in the waterproof, almost crushproof container mentioned in another post. They made GREAT Xmas gifts for my buddies & I kept two or three for myself.
Anyway, it's a GREAT firestarter that always works. Period
