Forgot to add that, like most people, I immediately ripped out the foam lining that came with the Survival Inc. kit. It looks great with the custom cut-outs for each piece, but removing it adds about three times as much inside room for your gear.
Also forgot to mention the Strike-Force firestarter, also from Survival Inc. It DOES come in a high visability color, with some interesting features that the Blastmatch lacks, such as a storage compartment for the fire tabs. I also attached a spy capsule full of PJ cotton balls to mine. No fail firestarter & tinder in one package. Don't want to risk losing everything by putting it in one package like that? Just attach a carabiner to the it & always hook it to yourn pack, belt, whatever.
Yes, it's big & clunky, but that also means that half-frozen hypothermic hands can also manipulate it. Equipment that looks, & even performs, neat as all get out in perfect conditions can often turn out to be not so good when it's pitch dark, windy, wet, frozen, etc. etc.
