My sense of things is that after the DMLE, Dan will be ready to move beyond SR77, at least for awhile. I hope he's not in a rush. A2 doesn't really offer anything over INFI/SR101/SR77. ATS-34's only interesting trait is it's stainless. D2 would be nice for a smaller knife as it holds a wicked edge, but there are durability concerns with hard use. S30V made sense for the folder, but that was about it. None of the other steels Busse has used are really worth mentioning. I'd like to see Scrapyard do something with SR101, but beyond that (and assuming Jerry's not handing out any more INFI) stick with SR-77.

I too would love to see a thinner blade offered. I like variety. I also do a lot of fine work during deer season... deboning meat and such.
But I do like my DogFather just as is. And I like Res-C. A lot. And I like A2.
And I am quite sure Dan is listening because that is what the forum is for. Patience is a virtue. He is just giving us all time to save up our $$. Right? Right.

Vic I think 440C is a common steel because it is good stuff that does it's job well.. For a second run SS4 I think it would be a great choice- D2 is good stuff but isn't 440C a bit harder to break? 440C plus Busse treat=great new SS4 or other smaller knife. sr77 for indestructible big knives good stainless for the smaller edc ones!?
(440C should be cheap and easy to get too, very much in-keeping with the 'bang for the buck' philosophy..)
JYD #3 Poor, but still dreaming of a sage and black SOD CG...

I missed out on the origional Howling Rats so I'm hoping for a revival made by Scrapyard.....Flat ground, SR101, 3/16" stock !!!!!

I am a simple man, and would be happy with more sr-77. actually, that's what I'd prefer. but, needs must.
