I've used the heck out of my Dogfather, RAT3, and RD7 - my BATAC is a user that is "newer" to the mix, as is my RTAK. The rest of my knives don't see quite as much love, but they all get used (other than my CGFBM and Hook, so far... but they will)

My main knives, listed according to most use, in descending order:

1. Pioneer
2. Delica
3. 889 (my folding d-mutt/delica hybrid)
4. Mora

Here's a little story about a forthcoming change in the above list.

I never really need to chop. Dead wood snaps pretty easy, even thick branches. This weekend, thanks to recent rain, I was in need of more chop than my 889 could provide. I also don't know why I took the OHT (saw equipped) out of my pack before the trip. Dumb move. The first thing I thought of, instinctively, was my khukri, but my d-mutt would have been a blessing. Too many sheep along with me for the fierce khukri so the small powerhouse is the perfect compromise, especially in combination with either of the first two knives listed.

all you mod-4 owners: i want one. may settle for a quartermaster. no substitute for a scrapper 7, though.

Well if by use them you include holding, fondling, admiring, lineing up on my desk, showing people, sharpening, etc. I have 50-60 fixed blades (new) (and 75 old blades that stay in the closet.) I only have one knife I have not sharpened or cut anything with. It is a mint, old style (pretty handle) Rat Mastiff. My EDC is either a SAK Trekker or a BM D2 Griptilian. I have a BRKT Sandstorm A (12c27 steel) that is always in my pack. I have a dozen or so Mora Craftsman scattered in my cars, boats, packs, tool boxes, etc. I own maybe 6 packs and each one has some kind of "survival" knife. I then add an outting specific knife(s) to each event. Also, I have a "possibles" box that goes on all outting that includes a DF. altogether I have 16 Busse Family knives and 13 BRKT knives. Those two groups get most of my "love" (and money). The one exception is a bowback skinner (Sharp Thing II) I got at Blade West from Okuden that seems to be a perfect hunting knife.

My S^ and SS4 is also in my skinning grab bag.

Out in the yard, I use my machetes, Dog Father, and Ontario Survival a lot. I seldom use my small fixed blades. If I'm going to cut something, I use a folder. If I'm going to chop or clear, I use a machete or big bowie...Out in the bush, I usually end up carrying a large fixed blade or machete for chopping, and do what little skinning and cutting I do with a folder.

So what DO you use your S6's for, Vic? (Yeah, I still obsess about those great lookin' Scrappers.)

I get by with my SAK Fireman. I enjoy it's utility.

Can't wait to get my hands on a ScrapYard. It'll happen. I know it will.

I sometimes carry my S6 on hikes. It's a great picnic knife. Keeps the sheeple at a safe distance. I have lots of 6" and 7" knives. Small and medium fixed blades are very versatile and carry well, but if I KNOW I'm going to be whacking things, I grab a big knife or machete, and I always have a folder with me.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

What I want to know is how many users do you actually have.

All of my knives are users. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

My main users are-

folder; SAK (Victorinox) Swiss Champ
small; SS4
medium; S6 (considering changing this to a Basic 7 soon)
large; Tramontina Bolo (money to performance it's the only rival to yard knives)

If I ever get a 4X4 and off-road it, my DF would get days out.. My SS4 is my hiking knife.
