Wow, talk about a quick response. You like it?

Yeah, I like the Ontario RATs as well as the Rat Cutlery RATs. They are different from a lot of the knives in that size that we all talk about here on these forums though. They are much thinner stock than a Scrapper or a Ranger as you can tell from the pictures. They are still very tough knives, easy to sharpen, and they are wonderful slicers. Actually, one of my favorite all-arounder type under 5" blades has always been the original Ontario RAT Tak-I. It has a nice big hand filling handle and perfect balance.

I have all of the RATs in 1095 and in D2 and I personally like the 1095 versions better. Nothing wrong with D2, but 1095 makes more sense in knives like these. If I was going to pick one to buy and use in D2 it would be the RAT-3, but I still prefer 1095.

You will notice that I didn;t picture a RAT-5. I have had a couple of them, but I don't like the ridiculous pointed skull crusher pommel they have so I sold them both.

The guys over at RAT said they ended up covering the broken Ontarios or something to that effect.

Are you still in the Lone Star State? You better not let her catch you on the computer during your "her" trip

Thanks CO. Believe me, I would never have bought that particular smith set up if I would have had to pay retail for it. We had a local attorney go to prison for a big pot growing operation, and I bought it from a confiscation auction consisting of his belongings . It had never even been completely set up.

Sweet!

The $5k price was a bit of a shock.
