Good morning, everybody. Just thought I'd check in on the Death Channel while working. And so, the weekly work grind begins!

That is true. I just need to get me a sander and start practicing on some cheap blades.

Ya'll are making me want to stop by Harbor Freight after work today. Bad influences, every single one of ya!

I can definitely see this being the case. These are some tough steels that we are talking about, so sharpening the blades seems to require more effort than, say, my typical folder. Double M spent over an hour on one blade last night and still had a ways to go to get the blade to where he wanted it.

In all fairness, I was going intentionally slow, doing other things while I worked on it, and doing a massive reprofile of the edge geometry.

We aren't just talking about touching up an edge after use - a light stropping of my reprofiled Mini Uncle Mojo after the Saturday chopoff brought it back to hair popping sharp in about a minute.

By comparison, on the high street yesterday, I was completely changing the character of the edge. I wasn't just sharpening it, I was removing lots of steel, and going very slowly, testing regularly, to get the blade where I wanted it by "feel" and not by measurement.

I really like this one.
