We have some promotional mouse pads in the office. I am going to take some home for my hand-sharpening using the sandpaper and strop method.

Crazy! I was just thinking "If this is what it does to pineapples, what'll it do to coconuts?" this... Sweet!

Just wait CR, pretty soon we'll be seeing pics of your CW roaming the rockies! That will be cool. We have had a lot of pics, but I can not remember any from the Rockies.

As a side note you can take an Emerson apart with just regular screwdriver and they are alot of knife for the money if you pick one up used. That is true. I got a CQB and Persian. Love both. I also have a Buck Stryder, and that is the reason I want a true Stryder.

I can be in the mountains pretty deep in about an hour I live right on the edge of the foothills.

MM sounds like you got a good edge on them.
I've been trying to reprofile my Bird dog LE with not much luck, that stainless is some hard steel. Tell me about it. I have been working my BD nad MP on a diamond stone first. This is what made me want to get a belt sander.

I live in OK and in about an hour and half drive in any one way I can be in several different types of enviornments--low mts, plains, desert, etc. I sure like it for walk-a-bouts.

I'll spread the general posts to the outdoor thread. But, yes, we realy enjoy Golden. We live in a typical neighborhood, but there are trails in the prairies all around us, we have the mountains (I look at North Table Mountain from my back patio), and access to some great National Forest in the mountains. It's usually very dry in Colorado, but with the extra rain this spring everything is still remarkably lush and green. I am sure that the wildlife appreciate it

I applied to a couple of jobs in CO, mostly around denver and boulder, but never heard anything back. I was really disappointed I didn't hear anything back, as I was anxious for a change of climate from Georgia. Ah well, there's always two years from now when my current contract expires.
