Canada's Mountain Equipment Co-Op (Canada's equivelant to REI and EMS) banned Nalgene products and other makers of polycorbonate plastics due to cancer causing ingredient.

I will not be using mine again till this is sorted out. I use mainly hydration bladders anyway.

My nalgene bottle has rotting OJ in it so a bit of plastic leaching is my least worry. I think it is funny that it is usually the most health conscious who use
nalgene bottles. I guess I will have to go aluminium?

I have Klean Kanteens. I like them a lot. I'm also about to try the 38 ounce stainless steel bottle made by Guyot Designs.

I've been carrying 2 of these, 1 I take to work and the other in my LRBOB kit. The one I have is 32 oz backpacker stainless steel with stainless threads, just the cap is plastic. I've boiled water in it, it is non vac jacket and will fit water filters and steripen.

I've been telling people how bad these are, they are brittle
I use a GI issue canteen, the cup fits under it and I have a pouch for it

That was my other choice if I couldn't find stainless steel bottles. I like having the one item vs the two, but each has there advantages.

I've been following this for a while, the guy in the link below says it's especially important not to wash them in the dishwasher. Why not just be safe and get a Klean Kanteen... as a bonus, you can boil in it if you need to.
