Trying to understand the gun laws just makes my head hurt. Instead I thought I would post some short shotties and socom clone pics.
This one seems to have a cold steel machete handle instead of a handgrip.

Here is a pic of my knife collection before I had any good knives. You can see the CS machete on the bottom has a very similar handle.

Here is a very nice Socom type build. It has a longer barrel and is set up more for longer shots than clearing rooms which is more what I like anyway and what the .308 is better at.


This mini 870 is legal because it came with the short barrel.

This saiga is not legal because the action is based on the AK47 and is therfore evil.



I am not a huge fan of handguns but there are some I like ,CZ's and single action revolvers and a couple that I love like the Stechin and this one.
It is a Sig P210 and that is the issue swiss leather holster. This is the best auto ever made.

This AR15 based rifle is owned by a Canadian but he can have a short barreled rifle because he is a serving military member. Love the set up and I hope it serves him well.

Unsub I am a real fan of ghost ring sights on a short barrel shotty.
I've got an older Mossberg model 500, it came with the wood stock and 28 inch barrel as well as an 18 inch barrel (no sights just bead, yuck) and a pistol grip.
Pistol grip and short barrel are fun to $crew around with but for seldefense I would rather hafe the short barrel and wood stock.

I really like my marlin in 44 mag, nice and small and the 44 still is a relatively potent round.

I think my model 94 Timber in 450 marlin with 325 grain bullets would absolutely demolish anything within touching range.

The only time you can use deadly force in Canada in protection of property is if you believe your life or the life of someone else is threatened. A tacitcal shotty at your bedside would weaken your self defense case a lot more then a duck gun

That baby 870 rocks! Funny world; I can own handguns, but that shotgun is way too small to own in NJ. You can own the mini shotgun, but no handgun.

I really want a 1911... probably a kimber... idk how would that compare to a springfeild?

You can own a fair number of guns but carry restrictions are VERY strict.
You cannot even stop for gas on the way to the range.
There are 3 levels of licences
PAL and POL- Possession and acquisition or Possession only (can't buy any more)

Restricted-handguns and a few "evil but not to evil" semi autos.

Prohibited -if you had a legal full auto before they were banned is the only way you will ever get this. Some serving military might have it. As owners age the few remaining and usually very historically important weapons are scrapped or dewatted. When they come for your rights this is how they will do it. Divide and conquer. Short handguns like most Para ordnance which ironically are or used to be made in Canada are prohibs as are Socom 16's. The FN FAL semi auto is a .308 semi auto battle rifle and is a prohib. The Norinco M-305 or Springfield M1(Semi M14)
is a .308 semi auto battle rifle which can be bought with a simple PAL.
The reason is the FAL is black and therefore "evil" the M305 is wood and therfore a hunting rifle. The AK is also evil but the CZ which looks identical
,shoots the same 7.62 round is not evil.


Now you understand why I want a Remington 870 with wood stock and ducks and dogs engraved on it.

A sawed off shottie is evil but if it is bought that short it is perfectly legal.

It is. I just havn't gotten the dot site yet. It came with lo-lite ghost rings, so I am happy with it, at the moment.
I really should get yhe dot-site brefore that asteroid hits Mars, and the Martian refugees flood our planet.
One of the reason I got the socom is I felt it would be easier to shoot from the back of an eagle, where I riding one about.

How about a Socom model II??

I would LOVE a SOCOM 16 more than just about any other gun, but the cost is just too high. (That is until I have a more disposable income, but now that is 2, 3, even 4 good guns with ammo and acessories)
The SOCOM II looks good but that is 2 more pounds of rail to an already heavy gun.

isn't a SOCOM about 2,000 at the most? like around the 1500$ range?
