Well, the sawbones said it was necessary for me to walk at least 2 miles every day in order to lower cholesterol, blood/ sugar levels and keep my arteries clear. So, my Rottie and I have been out and about with regularity. I picked up a very nice pedometer that monitors everything but my mood. I've been wearing m a pair of Danners or Timberline boots. Now that I've gotten use to this extra activity, I kind of look forward to it and Duchess busts my chops until she gets her hike in so, she keeps me honest.

Today, it's kind of London like here in that it's grey, cool and misty. Perfect walking weather. I clipped my Spderco Li'l Temperance to my jeans pocket and hung my Swamp Warden in Rainwalkers neck sheath around my neck and took my bony butt out among them.

Well, now that I've run out of things to say, I realize this was kind of a pointless post. I guess I just wanted to say hello.

I like to bring my camera with me on walks. You never know what you might come across.

Cool. I started to run about two weeks ago. I am doing between one and two miles, 5 days a week. I also started lifting weights again. I was lifting on a regular basis up until hunting season started, now I am getting back into it.

I walk for about a mile, pump iron for 20 minutes, stretch my back, and drink 16 oz of fresh vegetable juice 6 days a week. If I miss more than a day or two of my regimen, I can really feel it. At my age, I can either accept a little pain every day or suffer chronic pain if I refuse to do that. And I don't do well with chronic pain.

These bodies don't last forever. The older they get, the more attention you need to give them.

When I was about 50 years old, I was pumping iron big-time. Six days a week for two years. I never felt better. But, I wass working out for about 90 minutes a day and I lacked the discipline to keep it up.

I'm 62 now and have some health issues. I'll do my best to keep up the walking and try to stay active. If all else fails, well, nobody lives forever and it has been a hell of a ride.

Oh & Hi!

Hi, It does get cold sometimes. There have been some ice storms and it has been colder lately, thank God. In the 20 some years I've been here, I've seen a little snow once or twice. It's best to stay off the roads then, because it resembles a demolition derby.

We have cockroaches bigger than boxcars here in Houston. They have Department of Transportion numbering painted on their sides and participate in the morning rush hour on the expressways. It takes a good freeze to thin their numbers though they'll never go away.

Well you said you wanted to say Hi so Hi, Bill.

Sounds like a good walking regimen, I have to park almost a mile away from where I work, and they actually provide a trolly serving to shuttle us back and forth. I haven't used the trolly in years. I don't care what the weather is like, I make myself walk it because I need it. It can be a real challenging and interesting walk sometimes though, not because of the weather, but because I have to go though a downtown area, and occasionally I run into some very challenging people. Keeps me on my toes, for sure.

Sounds like a great regimen, amazing how our dogs pick up the routine so much easier than we do. My wiem knows that about 6:30, it is time to go and won't let up until we do...
