but the infi edge held out better than that of SR77
INFI is an amazing steel, no wonder they are known as nuclear tough.
Always remember that ScrapYard rules the "Performance to Price Ratio"

yes it does, the S6 had the highest rating until the fbm but an S6 is a third the cost of an ash
dan, thanks for the great blades
I got a call from Boss Hog when he saw the test...and he had more fun jabbing me about the new rating over ScrapYard it may have something to do with the hard time I gave him when the Scrapper 6 test came out. Most likely he is still smarting over my winning the Johnny Walker Blue from him
Long Live The Brotherhood of The Yard and the Performance to Price Ratio

That was a VERY impressive set of tests. I haven't watched all 70 minutes plus of videos yet. But, I watched the first couple and last 2-3 hammering through the pipe. Very impressive.
Hopefully you reminded Jerry that his 1 extra sword rating 7 over 6 (about 15% higher rating if one sword means as much) costs more than twice as much!
ALSO, I don't know if anybody else mentioned, but comparing the FFBM at 0.31 - 0.32" thick isn't really a fair comparison in toughness compared to a Scrapper 6 at 0.25" thick.
That is about 20% thicker which is HUGE! Plus, I believe the blade height is higher on the FFBM. So, a SIGNIFICANT amount more steel - should be more than 20% at any given cross section. The height of the blade is arguably able to withstand that type of torgue down on the blade from hammering more than even the thickness. So, MORE than 20% more steel and a significant blade height advantage that was relavant to both knives in their failures. Niethe failed on any longitude torque test only by hammering on the spine - Blade height and total amount of steel are both relevant - and only got 15% higher rating!
Still, I was VERY impressed with how well the edge held up on the INFI. I don't think SR-77 can hold an edge quite like that. But, I still wonder how INFI would compare to SR-77 at the same thicknesses, height, grind, etc. and comparable beatings - which would break first or have similar failure (?????)
Apples to apples is the only fair test.
..... So, I guess you need to make a round of FFBM sized SR-77 blades. - Of course, you would need to make a "FEW" and at Scrap Prices.
Noss might be performing the same routine, but the knives themselves were significantly different.
