Weren't you told on another forum that you should never baton a knife? I'd go 7 inch blade or bigger like cgdf, but maybe that is becaus I don't have a DFLE. I do like that size though. the RD 9 is great. I use it more often then the CGDF but I have used the CGDF for hard chopping, like my khuks.
