YES!
DAN DID IT!
I hope there is enough time between this release and the next for me to get some money!

How much difference is there between DF CGs and LEs (assuming that this release has the same specs as the initial run)?

I'll probably order a couple anyway, but I have multiple LEs (and am very happy with the weight and balance of them), so designating one of them as a user isn't an issue for me. Do some of you prefer the CG over the LE, and if so, why?

I have both. I prefer the LE as an all-around chopper. It is light and fast compared to the DF. As just a pure chopper, though, the original has 4 more ounces of blade heavy weight and will outchop the LE. The LE chops well, though, and also slashes through the light "machete" stuff better. To me, the LE is an improvement. But who knows about this DF? Maybe it is just like the LE only black.

Are we sure they are sabre ground DFCG's?

I could see it being easier to make a bunch of DFLE's and instead of doing the satin finish just give them the basic black coating. It has been a long time since the original came out.

I love the sterile knives. I prefer to do a satin finish myself and I always feel bad grinding off the logo. Also sterile blades are just cooler.

I was thinking the same thing, Unsub. Like maybe he has some unfinished DFLEs lying around and painted them instead of polishing them. Makes sense.

I think all the LE's got finished off though.
I think dan means cg, as in .275 inch thick (well, maybe .250) and sabre ground.

no all he says is that they will be sterile and black like the originals NOT that they are the originals

So far, all I know that Dan's said is they'll be coated in black. Whether they're original or LE-ground, they'll be a lot better deal at the release price than on the secondary market. I did a good job on controlling my spending last month, but between what I requested from the 'ganza, this release, and a couple other knife purchases, I'm slipping back into bad old habits.
