I seem to be rotating out my folders anymore. I really like my Benchmade stryker this month. It just hate the thought of losing it at work. I think thats the original reason I stopped carrying it at work. Getting in and out of the car all day I must have lost and found it a half dozen times or more.

The way the shop owner put it to me was, "no one tells me what to sell my merchandise for!" [censored] straight, its also illegal to do that as far as I know, but of course he could just cite some other reason to have broken off the partnership. That's not something that happens every day. I was going to be in the neighborhood of the discounter this week so I thought I'd drop by and check them out. Turns out they used to be an authorized William Henry dealer. But they were discounting the knives to their best customers and somehow William Henry got wind of it. The next thing the discounter knew, William Henry was threatening to strip them of their authorized dealer status. The way the shop owner put it to me was, "no one tells me what to sell my merchandise for!" So William Henry took away their authorized dealer status and gave it to another retailer just a few blocks away. The net result is that the discounter decided to close out all of their remaining William Henry inventory and I was able to pick it up for 25% off list price. The dealer was so upset at William Henry's decision that he gave me a William Henry leather-backed display stand as a parting gift. You ever get on a quest and realize you are about $100.00 short and maybe a year late? That's the way I feel now. I want a Folding Karambit to carry at work. I really really really want an Emerson Combat karambit (his folder) but can't find one ANYWHERE! But I would take the fixed blade in a pinch, maybe.
I have been looking at the Fox USA knives karambit and it's got the Emerson wave on it (licensed) but don't know much about Fox knives. And with THIS knife I would want to make sure it was a good one. Anybody had any experience with the Fox Karambit?

I stopped carrying folders when my Swamp Wardens arrived (which I now EDC). The last folder I carried was a Spyderco Delica 4. Believe it or not, this is probably the nicest folder I'd owned. Most of the others were much lower quality. My wife now EDC's the Delica. There is a Spyderco Ladybug on our keyrings too <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/paperbag.gif" alt="" /> . I always keep a SAK in my pocket too. Earlier this week I retired my Wenger Highlander due to years of abuse, and started carrying a Vic Hiker. The Wenger was smaller and lighter than the Vic, and I'm having a hard time getting use to the larger SAK in my dress trouser pocket. My EDC SAK always has a Light My Fire Swedish Fire Steel tethered to it with 550 cord so this exacerbates the problem. The Wenger was a freaking workhorse. I used that knife for everything, and it simply refused to give up. Eventually I started using the blade to strike the tethered fire steel which was the knife's undoing. It will still take an edge, but not an overly keen one. Bare in mind, I probably started 200 fires this way. Each fire probably took 5 to 10 strikes. Considering I paid $8 for the knife online in the 1990's....I'd say it was a good little tool.

I carry a one handed trekker(plain edge) swiss army and sometimes a EZ-Out Geber.

If I would have known that the One Handed Trekkers I was ordering were fully serrated I wouldn't have placed the order!
If they were plain edged they might actually get some use. I have THREE of the serrated version, and they literally are sitting in my safe having never been carried once. I should probably stick them on eBay.
I've never been able to get use to serrations.

I am not real big on serrations but they do have their place. I picked up a one handed SAK a few weeks back for 10 bucks at a gunshow and will be taking it with me on my next trip.

If you found a Vic OHT for $10 you did very well. I think I paid $28 each for mine.
Serrations work for certain tasks, but I'm a simpleton and like plain edges.
