That stinks! I'll let it slide on a $50 CRKT or what ever but that is a shame.

I usually carry a Sebenza but thought I would try something different.

This is the El Patron from Calavera Cutlery. It's blade is made from SM100.

Somewhere the other day we were talking about benchmade folding knives. I said That one of my favorite folders is the benchmade Vex, a Chinese made blade. It doesn't hold the edge of some of my other benchmades, but I have had MUCH success with it and have no complaints about it at all. Well I also have a Taiwan made blade, the benchmade 10300 monochrome. It is made of N690 steel and it also is one of my favorites. Holds a good edge and is easy to sharpen.

To each their own, but in my experience if you have a Chinese made blade from one of the larger/reputable companies, and IF they have a good QC you will get a good working blade at a lesser price.

Skunk, your thoughts work for many.

For me, I seek the best tool for my needs and wants.

A Chevy Malibu may get one around, but a Corvette does it a little better. Just a poor example.

Ultimately, I agree with your "to each his / her own".

@ everyone: If your happy with your gear, nothing I or anyone can say should factor in to your decisions.

I finally found the right deal on the high end production hard use knife I've been looking for. On the bay I snagger a zt 0560 as a buy it now, new, for 100 less then any other store or auction has it listed. I jumped on it. I then waited for the seller to not fulfill the sale or to have th knife wwith issues. The transaction couldn't have gone better aside from my distrust.

What a cool knife. Besides the hinderer tie in, the blade steel, the titanium etc, it still has a lot of technology going for it. I love the 3d milling on both the locking and other side. The barring pivot is smooth and very quick, at least with the flipper, thumb stud opening stinks. The milling inside is really next level.

I do have to admit that I am not into the black color of the scale. I am looking att getting a kryptoscalee or, hopefully, a carbon fiber scale for it. I am extremely pleased. The main edge is a bit thick but has shapened / ground more to my liking.

I have shaved my arm with the factory edge on my 0560. Not every one of them comes that sharp.

I know official replacement scales will be offered but have no idea when.

I really wish the liner was Ti and not stainless, the obvious color difference bugs me.

Nice knife.

I fiddle to much with my carry knives to leave the stock edge alone for long. Mine was very sharp too. I was more referring to the thickness right behind the edge.

I Agree with you about the liner, it should be titanium. Someone could make a nice chunk of money offering replacements.

Can anyone recommend nice edc blades for (well) under 200 with 3d carbon fiber scales or handles? Most I have seen have simple, flat, carbon fiber panels. The new caly 3 Damascus carbon fiber is a bit 3d. I would love a kopa w/ carbon fiber but they go for a lot more than I am willing to spend.

I just bought a used plain edge spyderco g10 police of a friend for
$60
It hasn't replaced my endura 4 in zdp 189, but I tend to carry different knives at different times

Greaser, what's the bottom ZT?

I just got a 0550 and am liking it...Howes had a sick price I couldn't resist although kershaw guy now has various ZT blems for even sicker prices..I might have waited for a flipper...

Speaking of flippers, anyone score one of the Spyderco Southard flippers yet? Interesting looking knife.

Hows about the spyderco nishijin? Nice looking knife imo...
