I usually use a slightly larger blade for this but the Mutt does just great on the smaller section wood ! Within minutes I have all the kindling needed for Mrs pit to get the fire going tonight. If you look carefully at this last pic you will see a knot in the wood just above my DM, when my knife hit this and stopped I just smashed it through and there was zero damage to the edge.
