I expected something much different, but I will pass on that knife. I guess that will leave me more money for another knife.

I'll have to see the whole thing (and, of course, the price), but so far this design has that "Shiva Rex" sort of feel to it -- too over the top for me. The mini-Sus Scrofa was ugly, but quite practical for some tasks; this BOSS HG55, I'm not so sure about.

He touted this as being something of the Old School Series so I was expecting a more traditional old style Busse, not something from a science fiction survival movie.... but I will wait to see the entire thing before passing judgement, might turn out okay, either that or this could be a big joke Jerry is playing on us.

I went and looked at it again. I'll wait on the United copy of it.

That knife should make Mall Ninjas happy the world over! Very disappointing.

That was my exact thought when I first saw it.
A Busse Bread knife.

I was following the post on this release regularly....excited we might get a "thick" RMD in Infi...something from the old school...when the pic came out I was struggling to find some positive thoughts...I could'nt get over the edge and the "Bread Knife" analogy. Jeremy Horton said something interesting for me...that this type of edge could be done on a CNC Ball Grinder and save labour costs on the "edge" grind...which probably explains the "new take" on the edge..."cost cutting"...well that is hardly "old school series" for me....I just hope the Khukri comes out a hell of a lot better...

The milling on the thumb grip does look like Jeremy's style but I actually prefer his work...although I bet Jeremy feels a bit flattered at the similarity of some of the features. I just got a knife from Jeremy which I am doing some testing on and whilst it looks "busy" the features on it "work"...it actually reminds me of more of Jerry's old custom work than Jerry's new release.

Here is a rare "one off" Busse old custom job...

and here is the knife I have from Jeremy...

[Linked Image from i343.photobucket.com]

The teeth on Jeremy's knife are "razor" sharp and cut deep grooves for traps and the front "wire cutting" grooves are just as sharp and for once "work"...

I had a Lile Knife...yes a "First Blood"...and these were no where near as effective...ditto I expect on the Tom Brown trapper...where as JH's knife has had a lot of "ceramic rod" hand sharpenning...it is up there with my FSH's as a good choice for what I need and saves me carrying some other bits and pieces of equipment.

I'm trying to get Jeremy to make a thick beast by the end of March for me. This makes it easier, because I will most likely pass on this Busse. We will see though.

Enjoy every sandwich.

I think its pretty neat.
Probly won't buy one unless I really like it.

I always have a chance to check one out at the local gun shows anyways.
