i'm actually thinking about trying to do some duracoating myself. i used to airbrush a little a long time ago and still have the gear from that. from my past projects i seem to have the patience and perfectionism to do a good job. gonna be fun...

I bet you could get some really cool blades using the airbrush.

Got in touch with Justin (finally!). He can make new scales and either regrind the blade or recoat it for less than I pay for a tank of gas in the wife's minivan. I imagine that since He made the knife in the first place, He would know what to do.

  Now: What handle material?

It may be something from the youtube link, but they're blocked from work, so I can't be sure.

Justin says that he would coat it or re-apply the satin finish - my choice.
I am leaning now toward having Gun Kote applied in OD Green and perhaps getting new OD Green handles installed.
Been busy with too many projects - and trying to keep track of when the new S5 is arriving on the scene.

I promise to post pics of the results to feed the yard.
