i'm actually thinking about trying to do some duracoating myself. i used to airbrush a little a long time ago and still have the gear from that. from my past projects i seem to have the patience and perfectionism to do a good job. gonna be fun...

Got in touch with Justin (finally!). He can make new scales and either regrind the blade or recoat it for less than I pay for a tank of gas in the wife's minivan. I imagine that since He made the knife in the first place, He would know what to do.


Now: What handle material?

I have a swap rat M6 that I duracoated about 10 days ago... have not toyed with it since, so I cant review it yet.

Justin says that he would coat it or re-apply the satin finish - my choice.

I am leaning now toward having Gun Kote applied in OD Green and perhaps getting new OD Green handles installed.

Been busy with too many projects - and trying to keep track of when the new S5 is arriving on the scene.


I promise to post pics of the results to feed the yard.
