3/16" thick would be my guess, rs. IIRC, Scrap Yard hasn't produced a knife thicker than that with a mudder handle. And if we're talking through-hardened SR101 and INFI, that's PLENTY thick enough for a 5" blade.

I hope it is NOT thicker than 3/16" (0.1875"). I might be O.K. with up to .20" (????).

But, 3/16" seems ideal for this knife IMO.

Private Klink, how goes it. I haven' been here in a looong time. Seems if all the action is going on over here and at Busse Combat! I like the looks of this new S5 and also the SAR4! When can we expect exact specs for each and prices?

Thanks

bottom line. if its sr77, sr101, or infi (busse kin steels) its going to be one kick [censored] knife. and i dont have one knife with mudder grips... what are the advantages of it over the DMCG grips and the normal res c grips on most other sy knives?

For the smaller blades (I have the Mudpuppy and Scrapmuk) the mudder grip has a much more maneuverable feel than the normal Res C. Strange as it may sound, after holding the mudder grip, it makes my DMDC and YK feel small to the hand. After picking up the MudPuppy, I will pretty much by anything with a mudder grip now...

I'm guessing since the LE's don't have a final material yet, this isn't going to hit our hands until fall.

The fan base is definitely for a good reason. To me it is one of if not the most comfortable knife grips I have held...

Heya Everyone,

Sorry I have been gone, glad I have been summoned back. I have been taking a certification course with a very unprofessional and, well, just plain mean instructor. After finishing the course last week Saturday I have been vegging a little and trying to prep for job interviews etc.

Well, my son had different plans. He was born four weeks early this past Friday morning at around 7am. Labor was 7 hours. He was 7lbs and 7oz. He screwed up on his length and missed it by 'that much' at 20". We were totally unprepared, of course (is anyone ever prepared for their first?). We got home today.

The Scrapper 5 looks freaking awesome. I think it looks like a poor mans version of a badger attacks. I love the idea of SR101 on this blade, especially with mudders, the best possible combo.
