Good information Momaw. I'll watch out for pond scum. I handled my DMDC with fish guts on it and didn't have a problem. I was beining to think nothing would make the Res-c handle slippery.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I've posted here a few times. I'll probably be around here more. When I joined I only owned a mud puppy. Now I have two Dogfathers and two of the new S5's on the way.

More pictures

Some trees fell across one of the main trails, so naturally I had to use my Dogfather on them.

Used the log I chopped to make a bench, then threw up a tarp to block some of the sun and wind. After building a fire and chopping around some we rested and ate some kiwi and sandwiches and drank pine needle tea.

Saw a standing dead tree that we took down for convenient firewood.

Fun day. Working on uploading a video too.

Very cool, I am really liking that 6" mess of choppedness. What you said about the coating certainly makes sense and makes me feel a little better about my perception.

Vivi, those are great pics bro. The DF's that you have, are they CG, LE, combo?

Toast, when I have the time I'll clean up my DF and polish the edge up some, then try to get some good photos to give you and everyone else an idea of how thin it actually is. But as you can see in the video below it has no problems busting up some wood.

This one is the LE tanker gray model. My backup is an unused LE (Full flat grind and polished blade).

Here's some video footage. Edited some parts out because it's kind of slow and boring, and my batteries died during the part I put in the beginning which is why it suddenly stops after I poke the knife into the log. Either way enjoy. It's not processed yet but it should be up shortly.

I vote the DF as one of THE best all time choppers I've EVER used. Ontario is okay , But the DF just doesn't quit. After time in the green hell of So.America , S.E. Asia and here in FLA... The ONE blade I can't do without is the DF. This blade seems to enjoy punishment , use and abuse....and will never be happy in his crate. I love this BullDog of a knife. 10 out of 10

Great pics Vivi. I just picked up a DF and I must admit that this thread and a couple others along with all of the great reviews on this knife are what pushed me to buying it. I already have a Ranger RD-9 which is nice but I just don't think it could hang with the DF. Now if I could just get my S5's...
