Yeah my scrap yard and swamp rats have generally come with good edges. I'd say about half of my Busse's came with decent edges, and half were crap. My FSH, despite being a pretty big, thick knife, can make reasonably good fuzz sticks with the factory edge. My NMSFNO couldn't cut a cake when I bought it.

I really like the Swamp Rats a lot. The M9 and M9LE are great knives, right up there with the DFLE. You get a lot of performance for the money with SRKW knives and they look pretty classy to me. But if you really want bang for the buck, SYKCO is the tops. I'd love a SYKCO bolo knife.

The only Busse I have is the SAR 4 that I bought slightly used.
It came razor sharp!
I too would expect a knife that is 3 times the price to be perfect.

I'd love anything large and thin from SY. Bolo, kukri, golok, doesn't matter... Just a long chunk of SR77 that's designed as a knife and not a prybar. And has a res-c handle <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
