No, this Ruger Bisley Blackhawk is what they call a convertible since it has both a .45 Colt and a separate .45 ACP cylinder. From what I understand there are some gunsmiths that will modify the ACP cylinder so it can use the .45 Auto Rim or standard ACP rds.

sumoj275, I had that 45/45acp Ruger Bisley you spoke of...had to send it back and they sent something else. Bad, long story. You are right about the pressure thing. Check out David Linebaughs thoughts on it, great info.
If I was going to do it again I think I would just get a 44 Mag because of the availability of parts(ammo, cases, bullets). Also, a double action Ruger has just as clean of a trigger pull as a single and it can be shot more rapidly if for instance you took it hiking in bear country.

Again, those little single actions just have something about them.

IMJ, was yours one of the Accusport models? I would normally agree with you on the DA thing for most people but I have shot SAA all my life and I am pretty good with it, especially coming out of a cross draw holster. For me, finding components is easier in .45 than .44 since I am set up to reload, and will be casting my own bullets this fall.
On Linbaugh, Clements, and Bowen--I would love one of their creations but I will settle for the .45 Colt pushing .454 Casual zone.

I called David one day and talked for hours, nice guy. Yes, it was one of the Accusport models. I found it online someplace and had it shipped to my local FFL.
David thought the best bet was to get a 7.5 inch blued gun and have it cut to 5.5.
I'm sure you know whats best for you. Now you have me looking at GunBroker!

I got the contact info for the dealer I got mine from. I am picking it up tomorrow, unfortunately my dealer did not get to the po in time--doh. Anyway, this production run isn't supposed to have the undersized cylinder and are coming with the laminated black/silver/green laminated grips. Just let e know if you ae interested. Oh yeah, the dealer I ordered it from is in SD and was in OK in two days.

imaginefj,
I agree single actions are fun. My favorite single action shooter is a Cimmarron Arms "Evil Roy" 45LC. The action from the factory is incredibly smooth. And the trigger pull is 2 lbs - buttery smooooooth. It's based on the 1st generation Colt Single Action Army (SAA) model so it's a real pretty gun as well.
AA is for quitters
