I was inspired by some other Scrapyard Dogs and put together my own ZEK (Zombie Eradication Kit).

Remigton 700 CDL in .257 Weatherby(awesome all-around cartridge for PNW Zombies)
Rock River LAR-8 .308 Win (Reach out and touch some Zombie)
Remington R-25 .243 Win MI BUIS
Rock River AR-15 Varmint Trijicon ACOG(Excellent CQB w/ mid range capabilities)
Smith and Wesson 460V .460 Mag (360 grainers can take out an elephant zombie)
Smith and Wesson 340PD .357 Mag
NMSFNO (up close and personal Zombie Stabber)
S5LE (really up close and personal Zombie Stabber and skinner)
Filson Tin Cloth Bush Hat folded Quasi-Aussie (not as cool one from the zombie movie, but it works)

I thought I was the only one that liked wheel guns! I dig your Smiths.

Inside each knife is a new adventure waiting to be had...maybe some blood and probably some suture.

I'm gonna make my way east to your place if the zombies attack.

Again I've gotta get my ZEK together. I think I could last longer than most.

Thanks for the comments.I was inspired by other Dogs here.

I have other handguns, but for a ZEK it's hard to beat the reliability, versatility (The 460V can shoot.45 Long colt, 454 Casull, .460 mag and modified .410 shotshells)and raw power of a wheel gun. Sure they have their drawbacks (capacity, reloading time, recoil) but if I need to deliver some plumbum quickly The AR's are will suffice.

The picture is marginal, but I think it gets the point across: Zombies beware.

Those X-bolts are at the top of my wish list. I'd like one in my second favorite cartridge the .270 WSM. I chose that 700CDL because of the cartridge.

i really wanted a model 7 CDL in .308 but i was able to make a nice trade on this one

I had a ruger 25-06..rechambered to 257wtby...i was going to use it for pronghorn...when i was going out to wyoming shooting prairie dogs...but the fella that owned the ranch we were going to passed away

so i sold it w/o ever shooting it

Vance,

You should try and find another .257 Weatherby Magnum (Weatherby Vanguards are a good value). They work well for animals bigger than pronghorn. I used mine to take a buck this year and it worked perfectly. Granted it was a shorter range kill, but the bullet did it's job with flying colors. It's flat trajectory and low-recoil help even novice hunters shoot with confidence. Zeroed at 225 yards lets you hold right on to a coyote from zero to about 350 yards. This greatly increases longer range hits on fast moving animals when you don't have time to use a laser range finder. The lack of recoil also mitigates the flinch factor associated with the big magnums, yet you get adequate energy for deer (or zombie) size game out to 500+ yards. Again, shot placement is paramount on longer shots, but the low recoil and flat trajectory are in your favor.

Then again, you have a .308. If you know the bullet drop, that cartridge can do anything a .257 WM can do and more.

Nothing wrong with having both.
