Andy

I cannot begin to tell you how much I envy your Muk collection!! Just received my first one and man am I impressed. Nothing earth shaking for use so far. I have used my S5's for most everything puttering around the farm...cleaning fish, chopping limbs off trees while pruning, and made a few fuzz sticks to start a fire for the kids to roast marshmellows. Nothing strenuous at all. HOWEVER, after just a brief fondling of the ScrapMuk, I do wish I had 1 or 3 extra just cause. Man what a great feeling little knife. All I have done with it is slice cookie dough, but boy did it do it with class!!

Some of my favorite uses of the knives are bushcrafting with my son. Just out puttering and practicing traps, shelter related stuff, fuzz sticks, just hanging with him.

Man, what a great thread. Andy, awesome pics too!

For me, I have used my SY blades in the following way:
SODLE: chopping, walk-abouts, fuzzies.
MUKLE: cleaning, cutting all kinds of stuff.
BDLE: cleaning, cutting all kinds of stuff, cigar cutter.
MPLE: cleaning and cutting stuff.
S5LE: Will be put into the camp and walk-about rotation.
TT Regulator: copping, cutting all kinds of stuff, BOB bag.

I use the yard guard the most. I can't say how many fires it has made. last winter it did great. this winter I have had some hard or frozen wood and I am thinking I need to set it aside and let the regulator take over.
the chopweiler and m6 have also made fires.

I think the best memory I have is the day the Dog Father landed on my steps. It was my first foray into the world of high end cutlery.

My cheeks still hurt when I think about the grin on my face as I opened up the package and felt the heft of the brute. I also remember dashing out to the truck and taking off to find something to chop, never mind that it was late on a cold night. Put a lot of miles on that blade and I still enjoy using it as much as the first time!

When I first took my Muk into the kitchen I was slicing something and managed to take a nice portion of the fingerprint off one of my fingers. No blood but a nice thin shiny layer of skin was left. Since then me and the Muk have been "on it". I love this knife!!! I want a couple more but the one I have has been great. I buy stuff at the store just to cut with the Muk. My new edges suck but the form of the knife still makes it my favorite fixed blade knife. Had to believe when I first saw it I was soso about the look.

I still need to do some chopping and batoning with my bigger blades...

I still FONDLY remember finding out that my name was chosen for the DogFather! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> I was happy to receive the free knife, but proud as well that I was responsible for the name, and that Dan himself proclaimed me the "Godfather of the DogFather"!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
