I think you may be wrong on that assumption. Heres why. There are plenty of Game Wardens to go around. If I had the money I would buy one myself. It all comes down to supply and demand. The DM was a one time release and after the people who bought multiples of that blade run out of stock selling on the secondary market, they will be scarce on BF and auction sites. They are still making Game Wardens but there will be no more Dumpster Mutts as we now know them so the prices will SkyRocket.
It is all supply and demand.
I would buy one now if you want one. It's gonna cost you more later
There are no more Fire Wardens, or Fence Fried Wardens, or tan wardens or whatever being made. Worse, it is now over a year since many of those models were made. Bottom line, they didn't really increase in value much except temporarily. People who bought them as an investment are trying to escape at breakeven now.
The knife community is not so large that it can absorb an infinite supply of Dumpster Mutts. There are new choices being offered by every manufacturer constantly that compete for potential customers discretionary purchasing dollars. If the Dumpster Mutt isn't available the customer will just buy something else. Why pay a big premium if you're not a Busse enthusiast already?
The assumption that you can flip X large number of blades at an extraordinary price is also a risky assumption to make. These are niche blades that few folks really know about. Most of the market demand is driven by word of mouth or forum posts. And the people who do purchase them are educated in the secondary market prices. Add to this you will be compete against other flippers on price. To achieve a decent profit margin you may have to sell them over a long period of time.
The only way I would commit the capital to flip 100 blades is by mounting a marketing effort that brings folks outside of the "chosen" into the fold. Destruction tests on YouTube, a Dumpster Mutt website, haunting every single knife related on the planet, etc.
We can agree to disagree on this but this isn't "easy money" on a $/hour basis.
