well, my 10 year old pathfinder had the compass and temp on it as well, worked until the day I sold it so it strikes me as a fairly reliable piece of gear.

Good! My wife says I have NO sense of direction. Says the only direction I know is the way my nose is pointing! And all this is because I turned North in Springfield (out in Toms neck of the woods) instead of South!

Well than may not be the ONLY time, but it was the first of many!

Hehe, sounds like a good excuse to pick up a cheap GPS unit! They are handy when you are on unfamiliar turf.

yeah we have thought about it, My stepson has one and it IS nice. But we don't really go anywhere "out younder". We only have to get on 6 roads to get to their house in Arkansas, and that includes two streets in their subdivision.

That works then, however if you ever think about a longer trip they are worth their weight in gold!

Oh yeah. I have already figured that out. We MIGHT get one someday. Like Patty wants to go to "Land between the lakes" over near Paducah Kentucky. Looks really easy to get to, but a GPS would make it so much simpler. Not have to worry about looking at a map wrong or nuthin, just follow the line by line directions.

Oh Oh, just looked at the interoffice memo e-mail. One of our dispatchers is going to have to fill in for the Office mangaer for AT LEAST 3 weeks. The Sheriff has said NO VACATIONS from July 28 until the last week or so of August! Don't know if this will impact me getting to come to Arkansas the last weekend in July or not, but it probably will.

Yeah, that is a little longer than I can swing by road these days. Long enough when you fly!

Tell me about it. Try flying from St. Louis to San Fran, changing flights then up to Anchorage and then Tokyo. We had to stop in San Fran to pick up other passengers, and the same in Anchorage. Just Pax pickup, food, fuel and back in the sky!
