The Basic 11 will be a great chopper ....

Here is a pic of a Basic 9 and the DFLE where you can compare the handle size ...

[Linked Image from i343.photobucket.com]

If the Basic 11 has an ASM grind edge it will be fantastic .... one of the best uses of "Infi" ever IMO ....

Wouldn't it be nice if Jerry finally gave up on the crappy micarta and embraced res-C!?

IF there is an INFI Basic 11, will it come with the superb 'Basic' kydex sheath? That would be nice...

I can't see a Basic not having Jerry's name on it myself. At 11" it's got to be $300 to $350 or even worse.. Now factor in exchange rates, international shipping and the Customs 'ransom' I get hit with and it'll really sting.

I don't think Jerry should go back to Res C. I think he should give INFI to SYKCO! Gimme an INFI DFLE!

Amen brother! INFI SOD too anyone?

(Dan I still love your sr77 steel too!)

infi SOD!!!! YES PLEASE!!!

Well, according to recent posts on bf I may have to eat my words on being skeptical about Jerry's posts alluding to the release of a basic 11. Congrats to the hogs that cyphered the code. Since he's giving out shop credits there must be something to it.

I would rather that it had been a scrapyard model of that size, but maybe there will be a surprise from scrap yard as well.

So, it'll basically be an overpriced, oversized DF?

The DF isn't INFI

If you payed the original price for the DFCG, which are now pretty much only available at 2x the price, it may not be that bad of a deal.

A Basic 11 will definately be worth the price. As a collector's investment or as a "user" ...

Collector's are likely to double their money .... so buy two and sell one down the line and you have one for free ....

User's get a knife which will keep pace with a NMFBM and yet is lighter and if it comes with an ASM edge will be much easier to maintain in the field ....oh .... and it will be a lot cheaper than a NMFBM.

If you pitch a B11 against a CGDF on a "user" basis ... the B11 will have better edge retention and is likely to out chop it .... but possibly not by a lot ....

If you already have a CGDF and see no need for another large knife .... well done .... you have this knife "addiction" thing beaten and in fairness both will do whatever you need them to .... so you are right

Unless I get a hankering to chop down the Hollywood sign, there's not a whole lot of call for choppers where I live, SF.

But...But...SF is where the Zombie invasion is likely to start!!! I beg you to re-think your position, Bruce...for your family
