Those condors look pretty cool. What's the purpose of the hole in the blade? I like machetes too! A man after my own heart. Those are great machetes, Guyon. Linder is the one brand I have not tried. Are they stainless? I had a Linder Bowie once. Good steel. The hole in the Condor Blades is the "Eye of the Condor". Supposed to be a good luck sign and trademark for Condor Tool and Knife. Makes it handy to hang them on a nail!
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Hey where in South Africa did you get a Penga? I managed a couple of spears, but I have never encountered any blades worth mention.

Next time I go back I will have them put the rubber grips on it. That is what they do as the wood grips suck. They use rubber from tires, which they also make sandles out of. They have two type. A drop point and an upswept point.

Guyon, good to see I'm not the only Tramontina fan.. My bolo is my favourite big blade, to be honest it's well ahead of my DF as a user! But that is mainly a personal thing, the Tram just 'fits' me better.

Then again, it's my S6 that goes everywhere with me in the wilds; not anything else.. Other blades go when they are suited to the job, the S6 can do anything and do it darn well!

But that is mainly a personal thing, the Tram just 'fits' me better. The Tramontina Bolo has to be the best $6.00 knife ever made. I had to modify the handle a little to fit my hands, though. Cold Steel, Condor, and Martindale make nice bolo machetes, too.

They use rubber from tires, which they also make sandles out of. And if you want to make your own, here's how: Tire Sandals

Oh yeah, welcome to the yard!! Thanks. Glad to be here. Hoping to do damange this weekend with a yard guard if the mail cooperates. Saw a couple of the tire sandals in South Africa & Zimbabwe. Never thought to make them myself. Never made it to Kenya. Next trip will be to South Africa and Namibia.
