The Basic 9 is... modified Infi? with Res-C handles?

Tony, it looks like a Basic 9 IS INFI & Res-C. handles.

Yes it is Mod-Infi.....from what I have read, you would need to examine the steel on a compostion level to see a difference...performance is the same.

Tony not many around I've seen a couple sell on BF for $275 to $350 (with factory sheath) in the last few weeks. (Plus shipping etc etc!) Still lots better than a FBM if the fella selling it is legit'!

was Asymmetrical just more cost-effective to do?

I think one side is flat ground the other is convex, but I could be wrong! (Katanas were traditionally only sharpened on one side of the grind)
