It was a blast Dan- Taking divers out to the springs to swim with the manatees was an awesome job to have. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> KS, can't think of much better a job for a teenager than to be on the water like that. I'd do it right now. I love being on the water. Me too and I did love it...I just wish I could remember all the girls in bikinis. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> I'm sure there were lots of em.

Turkey farms can smell pretty rough! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> There's a few of them around here. We had one near us when I was a kid. Our dog got into it and killed all of the turkeys, something like 170. The owner of the one I worked on tried "free range turkeys" once. Fenced in about 25 acres and just turned a bunch loose. Fed and watered them every day, but other than that they were on their own. Dogs got in once and killed about 200 of them. We put up tree stands to watch for dogs, ended up shooting about half a dozen. I didn't much like that, but couldn't have them killing the birds.

My first job was a shoe shine boy at a Naval Air Station. Hated to shine those Marine boots! I had my old stand until recently. 25 cents a shine. You could actually buy stuff for a quarter in 1958.
