I can see the Kel-Tec getting banned quickly... Yeah, so can I. Even though it meets all of the qualifications to be legal even in California, because it's black and looks "scary," I'm sure someone will try to ban it. The funny thing is that manufacturers coming up with AR mods/parts to make them CA legal is called sidestepping the law, by anti-gun politicians.

I did a quick search about flash suppressors in California, and it looks like if you have a detachable magazine, you need a muzzle break.
If you do a bullet button configuration, since the mag doesn't detach, a flash suppressor is okay. Check out the forums at Calguns. There's a ton of information there.

I have a flash hider on mine, but since I bought it that way I just figured it was pre-ban or something. Thanks for the info!

Feels like I am heading into the heart of the Death Star. I bought a Ruger Mini-14 at the Gunshow last week to cheer myself up. That has been such fun to shoot. It is pretty battered but suprisingly accurate. I am also thinking of getting a semi-auto shotgun before I head down. I feel like I'm looking out from the Death Star to the free world! Seriously, the gun laws here suck. You can get semi-auto shotguns here, but not with pistol grips. My friend has a semi-auto Benelli that he uses for bird hunting. Have you seen that crazy new Kel-Tec that holds something like 14 shells? Not practical, but it could be cool! I intend to get one as both a home defense package and a SHTF zombie apocalypse insurance policy

I figure if I'm going to roll with a tube mag shotgun, it's better to have 14 rounds readily accessible plus one in the tube than to have at most 7 or so.
I would still prefer a Saiga 12 however, over a pump design. I can't argue with 12 round detachable box mags and semi-auto capability. I can run an AK very quickly too, and the difference is negligable between the shotgun and rifles.

I find the design somewhat more practical than shells on the side. Been looking for a tacticool home defense shotgun for a while, guess I just found it
